Dr. Dang Nguyen joined Digestive Associates of Houston in 2010. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Nguyen graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in both biology and chemistry from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, in 2000. He received his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in 2004. As a medical student at Baylor, Dr. Nguyen participated in many volunteering works including caring for homeless patients of Houston and travel to Honduras with the Baylor Shoulder to Shoulder program to provide medical care to the underserved. Dr. Nguyen completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2010. During his clinical training, Dr. Nguyen published numerous articles on his research in obesity and digestive diseases and wrote several chapters for review books.

He is now a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Nguyen is a frequent lecturer on digestive topics both locally and nationally. Dr. Nguyen treats all digestive disorders, with a special interest in screening and surveillance of gastrointestinal cancer, pancreatic and biliary diseases. Dr. Nguyen is trained in advanced interventional endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection, and enteral stenting. Dr. Nguyen’s strength as a gastroenterologist is his ability to achieve a focused diagnosis, and then coordinate a workable, aggressive treatment plan with the patient.
